Consolidation

Toward the beginning of Jed Jr. – in chapter two, I believe – there were WAY too many panels for the conversation the characters were having. Each time a line was spoken, there was a new panel, which, as avid readers of comics know, is unnecessary. So I cut about nine pages down to about five and now it flows much better; it’s less clunky. The same thing happened here in chapter seven.

Originally there were eight pages – way too long for such a short scene; however, after lettering it (and after noticing there were a few panels here and there that were either incongruent or ugly) I saw that I could do the scene in fewer panels.

Below you’ll see both the original and the soon-to-be-published versions.

These are the original finished pages. Notice there are a few spots where panels are missing. Click to enlarge.
